For anyone interested in learning rigid heddle weaving, we offer classes that will teach you to create something you want to weave from start to finish.
Sandra fell in love with weaving about two and a half years ago. After taking a basic class on the rigid heddle loom she jumped right into making blankets, scarves, table runners and shawls for friends and family. After doing many projects and taking some Saori weaving workshops, Sandra freed up her inner perfectionist, learning to be less rigid but still structured in her creations and enjoyed the simple magic of weaving. She is especially fond of basic weave which allows the yarn to shine through on its own and is a huge belief in having special, one of a kind pieces. By joining a local guild, Sandra continues to learn about her craft and experiment with new to her techniques in one of the oldest surviving crafts in the world. Despite having and working on a floor loom, rigid heddle looms continue to be Sandra’s favourite for their ease, simplicity and portability. As she was taught in Saori weaving, there are no mistakes, just design elements.
